LVIMA has
"Kicked-Off"!
"Marketers-Only Mixer" initiates 2008 with new faces,
fabulous views and special announcements....
Las Vegas marketers began
pouring into MIX Nightclub at the top of THEhotel at
Mandalay Bay. It was painfully obvious everyone's work
schedules haven't slowed down enough to stay in touch as
much as they wanted to. After a short while,
conversations flowed (along with the cocktails) and everyone
enjoyed themselves with a spectacular view of Sin City.
This "Marketers-Only"
event marked the beginning of the new face of LVIMA.
The association chairman, Shawn Rorick spoke to the
importance of realizing we are in emerging media times and
stressed how LVIMA would focus on quality education with
sponsors oriented toward products and services in this
changing space. Emphasis would be placed on creating
speaker engagements and sessions that would be "beyond the
click" as he put it.
The only two non-Las
Vegas marketers attending were Kash Sen (IZEA) and Matt Wong
(DrivePM). They were the first to sponsor LVIMA events
this year and were invited to meet and greet with the core
group of LVIMA members.
Over 60 members turned
out for the event and there was a definite level of
excitement in the air as specific subject matter that would
be covered this year along with activities was briefly
presented. Membership cards were a small
change for everyone, but definitely gave off the impression
that 2008 will be a year like no other in LVIMA history.
Word-of-mouth travels
quickly in Las Vegas which was apparent by all the new faces
in attendance. The outreach to companies and agencies
"beyond" the strip was notably successful as the association
is showing strong support from all marketing and advertising
professionals - both offline and online!
